There is something for everyone in the numerous ski areas in the surroundings. On the Ahorn, the little ones can make their first attempts in the snow and the grown-ups can conquer the steepest slope in Austria on the Penken. Our valley is the place to be for ski lovers!! Here you come directly to Mountopolis - Mayrhofen. Rustic huts invite you to linger and enjoy regional specialities. Relax in a deck chair, enjoy the winter sun on your skin or watch snowflakes slowly covering the scenery.
There are also countless other options, such as cross-country skiing, tobogganing (Ginzling or Hainzenberg), snow-shoe-hiking, ice skating... Every day is an adventure and no two days are ever alike!

Cross-country skiing
There are a total of 35 km of cross-country ski trails around Mayrhofen, all of which run through the picturesque landscape of the valley. A dream for cross-country skiers of all ages. From classic trails, sprint trails to skate trails, there is something for everyone. By the way: In the Burgschrofen district, the pleasure trail, the sprint trail and the professional trail are floodlit every day until 10 pm.
Tobogganing
Your tobogganing fun can begin in beautiful Ginzling, which is just 10 km from Mayrhofen. From the village, you can reach the Tristenbachalm in around 40 minutes and then glide down the 2 km long toboggan run on your rails. The hut invites you to stop for refreshments and also offers toboggan hire.
For those who would like to toboggan for longer, the toboggan run on the Hainzenberg, which is also 10 km away, is an unforgettable adventure. You can take the Gerlossteinbahn up the mountain in comfort, enjoy traditional delicacies in the Berghotel Gerlosstein (please link) and glide down the 7 km long trail into the valley through the snow-covered winter landscape. Toboggans can be hired at the valley station.
Ice-skating
Every year in December, the artificial ice rink in Mayrhofen opens its doors. There you can skate to your heart's content on an area of 1500 square meters or try your hand at curling. Ice skates can be hired directly on site. From our Landhaus Veronika, the icy fun can be reached on foot in less than 10 minutes.
Snowshoe hikes
Into untouched snowy landscapes, through dreamy forests and snow-covered meadows - snowshoe hikes have their own special magic, where you can really recharge your batteries. You can find the right equipment and signposts for tours directly in Mayrhofen. Just ask - we will be happy to advise you.
